Le Petit Prince

"It is such a secret place, the land of tears." Eller i ei anna omsetting: "The land of tears is so mysterious." Orda til Antoine de Saint-Exupéry rører noko ved meg, og The Little Prince er ei av dei få bøkene eg har fleire enn ei utgåve av (viss du lurer, så er dei andre Anne of Green Gables  og The Secret Garden). Utgåvene er ikkje berre ulike på omslaget, dei er også omsett av to ulike personar, og det er interessant å lese favorittsitata med forskjellige ord og vendingar. The Little Prince er i mine auge ei av dei aller vakraste bøkene, tårene kjem kvar gong når eg nærmar meg slutten av boka. Måten kortromanen tar opp tema som tap, einsemd, venskap og kjærleik er universell, den snakkar til alle på tvers av alder og landegrenser, og den skildrar korleis det er å leve på ein måte som får oss til å tenkje lenge etter at forteljinga er ferdig. Etter bibelen, er The Little Prince, eller Le Petit Prince på originalspråket, verdas mest omsette bok, noko den verkeleg fortener!
